When you submit a sighting report, we collect only:

• Location coordinates (latitude/longitude) of the sighting
• Description text you provide (optional)
• Photos you upload (optional)
• A hashed version of your IP address (for anti-spam purposes only — we cannot identify you from this)

No Personal Data Collection

We do not require registration, login, email addresses, names, or any personally identifiable information. All reports are anonymous. We do not track individual users across sessions.

AI Content Moderation

Submitted reports are analyzed by AI (Google Gemini) to detect spam, fake content, and inappropriate material. This analysis is automated and no human reviews your submissions unless flagged. The AI processes the text and images you submit but does not store them beyond the moderation check.

Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, device type, country). This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users. You can opt out via cookie settings at any time.

Disclaimer

This platform is provided as-is for community benefit. We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-submitted sighting reports. Content is generated by users and moderated by AI, but we cannot guarantee all content is accurate or appropriate.
